Response to winter a danger to wildlife?

This winter brought several back to back snow events and all of the salt spread on streets and sidewalks to prevent slips and falls is now making its way to lakes and streams, even our drinking water. A Gaithersburg environmental group is sounding the alarm, saying this could be harming fish and other aquatic life.
