The Good Word: Kym Whitley talks gospel comedy, faith, family and friendship
Emmy-nominated actress, comedian and author Kym Whitley joins us on The Good Word series this week! Kym shares how she found her faith in college as a student at Fisk University. In a sit-down interview with FOX 5’s Tisha Lewis she says “fear will hold you back from who you are supposed to be,” no matter your faith. Kym is in the Washington, DC area hosting the 3rd annual HBCU Honors, presented by BET and BET Her. This year’s honorees include Pastor Shirley Caesar, gospel legend and cultural icon David Banner and artist, activist and community leader Janice Bryant Howroyd. Kym talks comedy, gospel comedy, faith and entertainment and the important of family and friendship including her friendship with talk show host Sherri Shepherd.
