DC Transit Day 2025

DC Transit Day is an annual event that commemorates the end of streetcar service in Washington DC on January 28, 1962. The event also highlights the history of public transportation in the Washington, D.C. area with special trolley rides, exhibits, and activities highlighting the region's transit heritage. “This year’s DC Transit Day is a perfect opportunity for residents and visitors alike to learn about the region’s transit heritage while looking ahead to its future,” said Eric Madison, Executive Director of the National Capital Trolley Museum.
