Mayor Bowser greenlights SNAP increase following Legal Aid DC push
D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser's Office is now set to fund an increase in SNAP benefits. This comes following threats of legal action from the D.C. Council on behalf of recipients of the food assistance program. While the council approved the boost in funds last year -- Bowser decided to not roll out the benefits -- saying the money could be used on other assistance programs.
