50% of DC's streetlights modernized through Smart Street lighting project

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and other officials celebrated a milestone for the D.C. Smart Street lighting project Monday afternoon. This program provides neighborhoods with better, more efficient, and more modernized streetlights.The goal of the program is to upgrade the network of more than 75,000 lights to LED, which offer energy efficiency, better light directing and safety.
