In a rare move, the Food and Drug Administration is recalling a drug it fast-tracked for public use. Eleven years ago, the FDA approved Makena for expected mothers. The shot was marketed as a safe way to lower the risk of pre-term births but the FDA's study failed to include a certain population of women who are at a higher risk for preterm birth.
