Police: 20-year-old man shot, killed in Germantown; wanted suspect kills self

A suspect wanted for the deadly shooting of a 20-year-old man in Montgomery County took his own life as officers attempted to arrest him, police say.

Montgomery County police say 20-year-old Stephen Frazier was shot in the 12900 block of Churchill Ridge Circle in Germantown just after 12:30 a.m. Tuesday. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Just after 7 p.m., Montgomery County officers tried to arrest the suspect in a vehicle in the area of Great Seneca Highway and Mateny Road. As officers approached the suspect, he shot himself. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

Police have identified the suspect as 18-year-old Valentino Pritchett.
