WASHINGTON, D.C. - A 25-year-old D.C. man is charged after an armed robbery at a Northwest pharmacy ended with a vehicle crash and foot chase, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
What we know:
Police said officers were called around 6:22 p.m. Friday to a pharmacy in the 1700 block of 11th Street Northwest.
Investigators said a man wearing a black ski mask entered the business and demanded prescription medications. He then jumped over the counter, made additional demands while displaying a gun and left in a vehicle with prescription drugs, according to MPD.
Arrest after crash and foot chase
Responding officers located the suspect after he crashed in the 1500 block of North Capitol Street Northwest, police said.
MPD said the suspect ran from the crash scene, but officers arrested him. Police recovered a firearm and prescription drugs, according to the department.
No bystanders or occupants of other vehicles were injured in the crash, MPD said.
