Heavy rains lead to discovery of large shark teeth in Maryland creek

While the heavy downpours most likely put a damper on a lot of outdoor activities this past weekend, the rain also led to a really amazing discovery in Calvert County.

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources said shark teeth were found in a creek in Huntingtown over the weekend.

Ironically, the shark teeth were found as the Discovery Channel's widely-popular "Shark Week" got underway on Monday.

The D.C. region has endured heavy amounts of rainfall during the past few days, which has led to a Flash Flood Watch being issued until 2 a.m. Wednesday. Huntingtown has received at least 6 to 8 inches of rain since Saturday.
