DC police investigating deadly shooting in Northwest

WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - D.C. police are responding to the scene of a deadly shooting in Northwest on Tuesday afternoon.

Police and emergency crews arrived at the scene at the intersection of North Capitol and M streets around 3 p.m.

They say they're looking for a 25-year-old black male, who was reportedly wearing a skull cap with white writing on it, along with a white t-shirt, a black jacket with a fur collar, blue jeans with faded knees, and white shoes.

the victim has not been identified.

The District has seen a surge in homicides following the new year - with 12 in two weeks.
