DC Halloween forecast: Chilly morning warms to low 60s with clear skies

A crisp, sunny start to Halloween across the Washington, D.C., region will give way to seasonable afternoon temperatures just in time for early trick-or-treating. Following an overnight cold front, morning temperatures dipped into the upper 30s and 40s across the area, including Frederick and along the Chesapeake waterways. High pressure is keeping rain away from the mid-Atlantic, allowing plenty of morning sunshine before light cloud cover builds in during the afternoon. Highs will peak in the low 60s around midday—ideal weather for outdoor plans, late brunch, or heading out in a costume before temperatures cool back down after sunset.
