Animal rights group targets DC restaurant over 'humane' foie gras claim as ban looms

Days after District voters approved a ballot measure banning the sale of foie gras, animal advocacy organization Animal Outlook issued a cease-and-desist letter to Logan Circle restaurant Mallard over promotions advertising dishes made from "humanely-raised ducks only." While the Northwest D.C. restaurant removed the claim from social media, advocates are demanding the upcoming supper series be canceled entirely ahead of the citywide ban taking effect next July.
