17-year-old accidentally shot and killed in Southeast, police say

WASHINGTON - D.C. Police say a 17-year-old boy was accidentally shot and killed Thursday on the 4400 block of E St. in Southeast. 

Police have identified the victim as Kyle Richards of Federalsburg, Maryland. 

Richards' brother’s friend allegedly accidentally shot him. She’s being charged with involuntary manslaughter.

According to Police Commander Darnel Robinson, officers responded to a call at 5:17 p.m. and found the teenage victim unconscious and not breathing. 

Robinson said that police also noticed a woman in the house when they arrived. 

At around 9 p.m., D.C. Police confirmed that the 17-year-old was pronounced dead.
