Dozens of dogs, 3 cats, 2 turtles removed from house in Montgomery County due to poor conditions, authorities say

Authorities say they have removed dozens of dogs and several other animals from a home in Montgomery County due to what they say are poor conditions.

Officers from the Police Animal Services Division (ASD) removed 59 dogs, three cats, and two turtles from a home in the 20400 block of Beallsville Road in Dickerson on Tuesday.

Officials say the investigation began after receiving a report of a dog who had been living at the residence and was humanely euthanized because of the poor conditions.

ASD officers say they performed an inspection and welfare check at the home, and due to what they say were poor conditions, executed a search and seizure warrant and removed all of the animals.

The animals are currently under the care of the ASD. Officials say one of the seized dogs was reported lost two years ago and has since been reunited with its original owner.

The incident is currently under investigation.
