Tina Frost, Maryland woman injured in Las Vegas shooting, moved out of Neuro ICU
BALTIMORE - A Maryland native who was injured in the mass shooting at a concert in Las Vegas has been moved out of the Neurointensive care unit.
Twenty-seven-year-old Tina Frost was admitted to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore earlier this month. In an update posted to her GoFundMe page, family members say she was moved out of the Neuro ICU on Monday, and has been moved to the general population ICU where she will continue physical, occupational and speech therapy.
"Our Tina marathon continues, she has just conquered another round of fevers and an elevated heart rate that scared Team Tina," read the message. "But once again, she persevered and is now picking up speed."
Frost has started trying to walk and has begun writing on a whiteboard, the update continued. "Her next huge hill to climb comes in a few weeks when the surgical teams will decide our Tina's next steps."
"Please continue to pray in the days ahead and we'll continue to keep you posted every few days," the update asked.
So far, the GoFundMe campaign has raised over $588,000 to cover medical expenses.
Frost was shot in the head while attending the Route 91 Harvest Festival with her boyfriend. She lost her right eye in the shooting and doctors say she could have bullet fragments in her brain for the rest of her life.
Fifty-eight people were killed in the shooting, as well as the shooter, Stephen Paddock. Over 500 people were injured.
