Outpouring of support for Arundel High School graduate injured in Vegas mass shooting

GAMBRILLS, Md. - There has been an outpouring of support for a woman from Maryland injured during the mass shooting in Las Vegas that left 59 people dead and more than 500 people injured.

One of those wounded during the shooting was Tina Frost, a 2008 graduate of Arundel High School in Anne Arundel County.

According to her mother's note on a GoFundMe page, Frost was in the intensive care unit in a coma and on a ventilator after undergoing surgery. She has lost her right eye and may have brain damage.

Her family has flown to Las Vegas to be at her side. Frost's family is also loved by many in the Arundel High School community. Frost was a member of the school's soccer team. Along with Tina, her two sisters also graduated from Arundel.

"Even though 3,000 miles almost separate us, it is fresh," said health teacher Mary Ellen Towns. "It hurts. We love those girls. We love that family. They made us proud here at school."

"For me, the biggest message that [I would tell her] if I could see Tina right now was to continue to be the badass fighter that she was when she was on the soccer field," said Frost's soccer coach, Laura Cole.

The GoFundMe page set up to help Frost and her family has quickly climbed to over $115,000 as of Tuesday afternoon.

"It speaks volumes about our community, but not surprising at all," said Arundel athletic director Kevin Necessary. "What we probably hold most dear about this school is the ties we have with the community."

"With the support of her family, continuing to fight and the support of all of her Wildcat family, there is no doubt in my mind she is going be okay," said Cole.

A moment of silence was held to honor Frost during Arundel's girls soccer game against Old Mill High School Tuesday evening.
