WASHINGTON - Caps are in a positive mindset heading into the new season, after spending the summer celebrating with Stanley Cup. They head into their first home game at Capital One Arena, and will be raising their championship banner.
The Caps are starting the season in style with a 'Rock the Red Carpet' event on F Street in front of Capital One Arena.
The team started off the day at Medstar Capitals Iceplex to get in some practice time and get prepared before their big game against the Bruins.
Led by newly-promoted coach Todd Reirden, the Caps sound like they're ready to rock and roll.
Celebrated players T.J. Oshie and Lars Eller spoke to FOX 5 about their whirlwind off-season since winning the Cup and their hopes for the season ahead.

At the Wednesday night celebration, fans cheered as players walked down, what else!? -- a red carpet while shaking hands with fans and signing autographs at the Rock the Red Carpet event.
Caps player Brett Connolly says he's looking forward to the new season.
"We're excited. It's a big opportunity for us and a big night for our fans and everybody so, it's another year we'll see banner go up tonight and put it all behind us and get going again," he said.
"Of course, there's some pressure but we're having fun playing hockey so, it will be a good night," said Jakub Vrana.
Fans were pumped to see their favorite players and get to hang out with them.
"I like the players and ring. [T.J.] Oshie had his ring on and he was signing and it was in my face and I was like 'Oh, my gosh that's huge," said one fan.
