Man arrested for allegedly shooting transgender woman in College Park

College Park Police say they have arrested a man after the shooting and killing of a 32-year-old transgender woman.

Police say Troy "Tee Tee" Dangerfield was found shot multiple times as she sat in her car outside the South Hampton Apartment on Godby Road. Dangerfield was transported to the Grady Memorial Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

On Tuesday August 22, police arrested Tyrone Kemp for the murder on Dangerfield, according to police. He was charged with malice murder and is being held without bond.

Dangerfield was targeted because she was transgender, according to officials.

The Human Rights Commission said they were "horrified and saddened" to learn of Dangerfield's death. The organization released the following statement:
