Manassas homes damaged by gunfire

MANASSAS, Va. - Prince William County police are investigating gunfire that caused damage to homes and a vehicle in a Manassas neighborhood.

Police say officers responded to a home in the 9400 block of Westmoreland Avenue on Tuesday at 11:57 p.m. after the homeowner reported finding a bullet hole in an interior wall of the home.

Officers found a vehicle parked in a driveway and an exterior shed also damaged by bullets. A second home was struck by gunfire as well. Police found several shell casings on the roadway.

Christopher Lopez said he was not at home Tuesday night, but he found bullet holes in his bedroom.

"I went to my room and there are holes in my wall, through a pillow and it's right where I sleep," he said. "Two bullets went in. One went through the pillow and one went through the wall."

A witness told police that before hearing the gunshots, a black sports car-style vehicle was driving in the area without its headlights on.

No injuries were reported, police said.

Back in February, several homeowners in Woodbridge reported having their homes damaged from several gunshots in the area. One homeowner told FOX 5 that one bullet shattered a bedroom window while he was lying in bed.
