DC's 1st neonatal kitten nursery coming to Arlington

The DC Metro area's first neonatal kitten nursery will be coming to the Animal Welfare League of Arlington (AWLA).

As first reported by ARLnow.com, the "Kitten Academy" was made possible thanks to a $25,000 donation by Ted and Willa Lutz.

AWLA said the nursery will save hundreds of kittens per year because the young felines are at higher risk of death or being euthanized in shelters.

The nonprofit will host a neonatal kitten workshop to provide information about how to care for neonatal kittens from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on June 14.
