Arrest made in Benning Road quadruple shooting; police searching for 2nd suspect

- D.C. police have arrested one man and are searching for another suspect believed to be involved in a quadruple shooting in Northeast D.C. last week.

Police said four people were shot in the 1800 block of Benning Road last Friday at around 11:10 p.m. The victims were all transported to area hospitals where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The suspects fled before officers arrived at the scene.

Officials announced Wednesday that police have arrested 26-year-old Michael Ross, of Southeast D.C., on Tuesday. He has been charged with assault with intent to kill (gun).

Police are now searching for 27-year-old Anthony Farmer, who is wanted on an arrest warrant in this case. He is described as a black male with a medium complexion. He stand 6-feet-tall and weighs around 175 pounds. He has tattoos on both of his arms, chest, stomach and back.

Anyone with information about Farmer is asked to call D.C. police at 202-727-9099 or by texting a tip to the text tip line at 50411. A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered in this case.

Benning Road has seen a rash of gun violence in the past week. In addition to Friday's shooting, 25-year-old Marquiawn Williams was shot to death in the same area Monday night. Police have released surveillance camera footage of a person of interest in this case.

The following night, two people in an SUV were shot in the parking lot of the Hip Hop Fish and Chicken restaurant in the 2300 block of Benning Road.

The District has had 119 homicides so far this year, which has already surpassed the total from 2017.

“We have seen a recent spike in violence in this city, in other parts of the city as well,” said D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser. “So we know that regardless of the motive, the type of violent crime is disturbing, outrageous and it certainly highlights a desperate need to get illegal guns out of our community.”
