FBI investigates robberies targeting 7-Eleven convenience stores

The FBI is investigating a string of robberies targeting 7-Eleven convenience stores that have occurred recently in parts of D.C., Maryland and Virginia.

At least six 7-Eleven stores are known to have been robbed during a one-week stretch beginning August 27 and going until September 3.

Police say the individuals suspected of the crimes have been described as black males wearing dark colored clothing. One of them was described as having long dreadlocks and another was described as wearing black shoes with red coloring on the top.

Investigators say the men displayed weapons during each robbery and a long gun was used in one of the incidents. During two of the robberies, four men entered the store and were seen fleeing in a sedan.
