2 teens found dead inside minivan in Woodbridge

WOODBRIDGE, Va. - Police in Prince William County are investigating the death of two teenagers whose bodies were found in a minivan Saturday in Woodbridge.

Officers found Lyle Ferringer and Indya Davis inside the vehicle unresponsive on Hamilton Drive near Dawson Park. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Woodbridge teenagers were both 17 years old. They had been friends for years and dated.

"The two possible scenarios that we are looking at are a double suicide in which both the parties went to the park knowingly and committed suicide together," said Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok. "The other option would be a murder-suicide in which one of the parties killed the other one and then themselves."

Autopsies by the medical examiner's office revealed the cause of death for both Ferringer and Davis were related to stab wounds.

Police say Davis' death has been ruled a suicide while Ferringer's death is still under further investigation along with pending toxicology results.

According to police, the families of the teenagers last saw their kids on Friday. They called in missing person reports early Saturday.

The bodies were found in the back compartment of the van that was parked near the park at around 5 p.m. Saturday.

Police say there was no gun involved.

Ferringer's mother told FOX 5 that the couple often met at the park before they could drive because it's between their two houses. This time, Ferringer drove his family's van.

She told us Davis called her son and asked him to meet at the park. However, police will not confirm that.

Davis went to Osbourn Park High School while Ferringer went to Gar-Field High School. A Prince William County Public Schools spokesperson say they had counselors at both schools to help students and staff deal with the tragedy.

Police say the investigation is still ongoing.
