Local singing sensation Sara Sturm eliminated from American Idol

WASHINGTON - It was a tough goodbye to a local girl trying to win big on American Idol.

Local singing sensation and friend to FOX 5 Sara Sturm was eliminated from the show Thursday night.

The teen from northern Virginia talked about her experience on GoodDayDC just yesterday before the elimination show.

Last night Sara took to social media to thank her fans saying, "some of the hardest goodbyes had to be said."

She went on to say, "this isn't the end of chasing my dreams, and I can't wait to see what the future has in store for me moving forward!"
