MOUNT AIRY, Md. - Severe thunderstorms passing through Maryland caused large damage to several businesses and apartment complexes along with downed trees Friday night.
Fire officials in Carroll County say firefighters responded to a T.J. Maxx in the 1000 block of Twin Arch Road in Mount Airy at around 8:15 p.m. for a report of some type of collapse at the store. There were several reports of a tornado that passed through the area.
Three people suffered minor injuries, officials say.
The fire department in Carroll County says it also responded to other weather-related incidents in the area.
Officials in Baltimore County reported that the roof on two apartment buildings have blown off.
Fire and Emergency Management units are o/s in 1600 block Four Georges Ct, 21222, where the roofs have blown off of two apartment buildings. There were also reports of one person killed and another missing following a building collapse at an Amazon Fulfillment Center in Baltimore.
A Tornado Warning was issued for Charles County, St. Mary's and Prince George's County in Maryland late Friday night, but has been canceled.
