Flood Warning, Flood Watch alerts issued for area for continuing heavy rains

- Heavy rains have impacted roads around the region and have brought on flood warnings for parts of the area.

Maryland Emergency Management says the heavy rain is producing 1.5 inches of rain in one hour.

FOX 5's Gary McGrady says the rain is coming in from the east and west. The area should see a few more hours of rain, but Sunday night and Monday should be drier.

The National Weather Service says occasional heavy showers are falling on top of already saturated ground will make flooding likely.

A Flood Warning is in effect for Howard, Anne Arundel, Montgomery, Prince Georges Counties in Maryland.

In Virginia, there is a Flood Warning through Monday afternoon for Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, Fauquier, Culpeper; Greene, and Rappahannok Counties.

DC is under a Coast Flood Advisory as well as a Coastal Flood Warning.
