WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - Target is reporting outages at checkout counters across the chain, affecting shoppers nationwide.
The superstore chain acknowledged the outages in a tweet Saturday afternoon, while saying it's working to fix the problem:
We're aware that guests are currently unable to make purchases at Target stores. Our teams are troubleshooting now and we apologize for the inconvenience. We will provide an update as soon as possible.— Target (@Target) June 15, 2019
It's unclear how many stores are affected, but angry shoppers nationwide took to Twitter to call out the chain.
One location at RIO Lakefront in Gaithersburg indicated that their registers stopped functioning shortly before 2 p.m.
Another location in Northwest D.C. said they were seeing similar problems.
A mini-store in Bethesda said they were not experiencing any issues.
This is a developing story. Stay tuned for updates.
