Reuben Foster's ex-girlfriend speaks out

- The ex-girlfriend of Redskins linebacker Reuben Foster is speaking out.

The 49ers released Foster after a domestic violence arrest in Florida last month. Washington then claimed his rights just days later in a controversial move that sparked outcry in the District and beyond.

In an interview with Good Morning America that aired Thursday, Elissa Ennis described the altercation with Foster outside of a Florida hotel that allegedly left her with bruising on her face and chest, saying a heated argument turned physical when Ennis threatened to tell his new girlfriend that Foster had paid for Ennis’ flight to Florida.

It’s not the first time Ennis alleges Foster has gotten physical. He was also arrested for domestic violence in February. Ennis would go on to recant those allegations but told ABC News she was, in fact, abused and lied to protect Foster.

Asked for her reaction when the Redskins signed Foster, Ennis said, “When he got signed I was like, I can’t believe somebody picked him up, and I just couldn’t believe somebody picked him up in less than – how many hours? – like, I was shocked.”

The Redskins declined to comment on Ennis’ allegations Thursday, instead pointing to a statement the team released last week that said officials understand the severity of the allegations, and there’s no guarantee Foster ever plays for the Redskins.
