Maryland crews that assisted with Hurricane Harvey on standby ahead of Irma

Many first responders in Maryland who helped the people of Texas following Hurricane Harvey are on standby as Hurricane Irma churns closer toward Florida.

FOX 5's Bob Barnard spoke with Maryland Task Force 1 Leader, Captain Michael Glazier, at the Montgomery County Urban Search & Rescue warehouse in Rockville.

Glazier said four crew members who work to decontaminated equipment have already been diverted to Georgia while on the way back to Maryland after assisting in Texas. He said many team members here are getting their gear ready ahead of another anticipated call for help.

Glazier said that his crews assisted in rescues while in Texas and is ready to help again if needed.
