Woman viciously assaulted by man inside Union Station

- Police are trying to track down a man who attacked and robbed a woman inside Union Station.

It was just after 4 p.m. Tuesday when Termia Logan got off the Metro and came to the mall area inside Union Station to return merchandise after a day at work. She said she got on the escalator and noticed a group of young men acting suspicious. One of the men was standing ahead of her on the left side of the escalator.

Logan asked him if he could move over to the right side so she could get past him. He would not answer, but eventually moved. When she walked past him, she told him, "One side is the walk up and one side is the walk down."

She said she got to the top of the escalator near the H&M store when the man bashed her face with a closed fist knocking her out cold on the floor. It caused blood to pour from her face and her eye was swollen shut.

The victim was taken to the hospital where doctors checked to make sure she had no other serious injuries as a result of the assault.

Logan said she was humiliated, wants to know where security was and wants the perpetrator caught.

“He punched me so hard in my face, I dropped,” Logan told FOX 5 in tears. “I don’t know if it was my nose bleeding or my mouth, but blood just started coming from everywhere. When I looked up, I couldn’t open my eye. I want him to be caught. I want justice.”

Amtrak police confirmed they are looking for a suspect, but would not provide any other information or surveillance video in the case.
