Wawa coming to Georgetown

Wawa has announced its second Washington D.C. location will open in Georgetown.

The upscale food shop will open at the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and Prospect Street and offer Wawa favorites such as made-to-order hoagies, custom salads and freshly brewed coffee.

The store will feature a new urban design with customized architectural elements to meet the needs of the Old Georgetown Historic District.

Wawa is aiming to open its Georgetown location by the end of 2018. Its first location is set to open in Dupont Circle by the end of 2017.

The company hopes to open five to 10 more stores in D.C. as part of continued expansion in the mid-Atlantic region. There are currently 750 Wawa stores open in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and Florida.
