Police respond to numerous shootings, stabbings during violent Memorial Day night in the District

WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - Numerous shootings and stabbings overnight have added to a violent holiday weekend in the District.

Since about 10:30 p.m. Monday, three people have been shot and two others stabbed.

FOX 5 crews are on the scene at Birney Place in Southeast, D.C. where one of those victims, a man, was shot to death right before midnight.

At least five victims were shot, including one juvenile, in Southeast Monday afternoon, authorities say. That shooting happened in the 1200 block of Sumner Road near the Barry Farm Recreation Center on Sumner Road at around 2:30 p.m.
