Summerlike warmth this weekend with threat of storms following Thursday's round of severe weather

Severe weather brought power outages, downed trees and even resulted in a tornado Thursday in the D.C. region. FOX 5's Mike Thomas says the weather system that brought the strong winds moved across our area yesterday afternoon. Residents continue to clean up and utility crews are continuing to work to restore power to impacted areas.

Friday will be comfortably warm, Mike says, with highs around 84 degrees. A summerlike weekend is ahead as temperatures rise on Saturday into the mid-80s and into the 90s on Sunday. The threat of storms exists on both Saturday and Sunday.

Memorial Day looks dry with highs around 85 degrees. Temperatures back into the 90s next week.
