LOCATED: Silver Spring sisters located safe and unharmed

UPDATE 8/10/18: Police say 11-year-old Kandyce Matos and 16-year-old Karmen Matos have been located safe and unharmed.

Two sisters have been reported missing in Montgomery County, officials announced on Tuesday.

The Montgomery County Police Department said 11-year-old Kandyce Matos and 16-year-old Karmen Matos were last seen by their parents on Saturday at about 11 p.m. at their home on Hunters Gate Court in Silver Spring.

Officials said the parents went to check on the girls in their bedroom on Sunday at about 11 a.m. and noticed the children were gone. Detectives said they believed the sisters are together.

Kandyce Matos was described as a female standing about 5-feet-4 inches tall, weighing 137 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.

Karmen Matos was described as female standing about 5-feet-5 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.

Officials said the sisters were known to frequent Westfield Wheaton Mall, the Bel Pre area in Montgomery County, Washington, D.C. and Prince George's County.

Police and family said they're concerned for the girls' welfare.
