Police searching for teen wanted in connection to Arundel Mills mall shooting

Police in Anne Arundel County are searching for a 16-year-old wanted in connection to a shooting that happened at Arundel Mills mall Saturday night.

Police say officers were dispatched to Arundel Mills mall at around 7:45 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting on February 16 that started after an alleged altercation between two groups who did not know each other.

When officers arrived at the scene, located near the entrance 3 portion of the mall, police say they located several witnesses and obtained surveillance video from the incident.

Police say while officers were in the process of investigating the shooting at the mall, a man walked into a local hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower torso. Investigators later determined the man had been shot at the mall.

The victim is in stable condition following the shooting, police say.

On Sunday, police released a flyer picturing Jamari Marquese Hammond, of Severn, who they say is wanted for attempted murder in connection to the shooting at the mall. Police say he will be charged as an adult.

If you have information on Hammond's whereabouts, contact police at 410-222-8610 or 410-222-6155
