Police: KKK fliers in baggies with birdseed found again around Loudoun County

Police in Virginia say they are investigating after more Ku Klux Klan (KKK) recruitment fliers were found by Loudoun County residents over the weekend. The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office as well as the Leesburg Police Department are working together to investigate the fliers' origins.

Investigators say Leesburg police received calls Saturday evening reporting the materials, which were found in plastic baggies at the bottom of driveways.

Then on Sunday morning, Loudoun County deputies were notified that additional fliers, with two containing CDs, were found in driveways near the 39000 Block of Catoctin Ridge Street in Paeonian Springs. There were also fliers found along streets in the New Town Meadows neighborhood of Lovettsville.

Police say fliers were found alongside driveways, near mailboxes and on sidewalks in the community. They say the baggies that had the fliers also contained birdseed.

Police say there is no indication that any of the residents who received the fliers were targeted. They say some fliers received were similar to those in previously reported in January.

Anyone with any information regarding the fliers or who may have surveillance video are asked to contact police at (703) 777-0475.
