Police investigating shooting in Southwest DC
WASHINGTON - D.C. police are on the lookout for two suspects after a man was shot in Southwest D.C.
Police say they responded at around 5:44 p.m. Friday to the 3900 block of South Capitol Street for a shooting in front of a liquor store and a carryout restaurant.
The victim was found conscious and breathing suffering from several gunshot wounds at the scene, according to police. He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A witness told FOX 5 that a group of men was hanging out in front of the businesses when two of the men attacked another man. At one point, one of the men ran to a white car, retrieved a gun and then shot the victim.
Police have released surveillance video taken in the area that shows the two suspects getting into a vehicle of interest.
Police say one of the suspect was described as a black male with blonde dreadlocks who was wearing a black jacket and armed with handgun.
