Police identify man killed in crash with D.C. fire truck

Police have identified the man who was killed in a multi-car collision with a D.C. fire truck Friday afternoon.

Investigators say 31-year-old Deangelo Green, of Northeast, DC was killed after his car was struck by a D.C. fire truck.

They say Green was driving a gold Honda Accord at around 12:15 p.m. Friday when the car entered the intersection at 12th Street and Rhode Island Avenue NE and was t-boned by a D.C.fire engine.

A witness said to FOX 5 the truck had its lights on when the crash happened.

D.C. police said the Honda then struck a 2004 Ford Focus, which then struck a pregnant woman, who was a pedestrian on the sidewalk.

D.C. Fire and EMS came to the scene and took the pedestrian to the hospital in stable condition. However, investigators say Green, the driver of the Honda, who was also taken to the hospital and he was pronounced dead.

Major Crash Investigations Unit detectives continue to investigate the collision.
