OXON HILL, Md. - A man was struck and killed in a hit-and-run in Prince George’s County Thursday night, police say.
According to police, the collision happened at around 6:50 p.m. as a white SUV was making a left turn from St. Barnabas Road onto Wheeler Road in Oxon Hill.
The driver left the scene after the collision.
Police say the pedestrian was in a crosswalk crossing Wheeler Road when he was hit. He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The westbound lanes of Wheeler Road were temporarily closed for the investigation, but later reopened Thursday night.
