WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - New court documents have revealed the names of two U.S. Park Police officers who shot and killed Bijan Ghaisar in November 2017.
A court filing in a federal lawsuit identifies the officers as Alejandro Amaya and Lucas Vinyard.
Park Police have declined to identify them since the incident in which Ghaisar was killed.
Ghaisar was shot after a police chase into the Mount Vernon area of Fairfax County.
Police say he was a suspect in a hit-and-run crash near the George Washington Parkway in Alexandria.
A police report indicated that Ghaisar was unarmed when he was shot multiple times by the officers.
The Park Police have never explained why Ghaisar was killed.
