Montgomery County man gets 420 years in prison for filming, sexually abusing 3 young girls

A Montgomery County man has been sentenced to 420 years in prison for filming his sexual abuse of three girls between the ages of 2 and 4, according to officials.

A federal jury found 33-year-old Kyle Thompson of Burtonsville guilty on 18 counts of production of child pornography back in September. The jury deliberated for less than 30 minutes before reaching its guilty verdict.

"Kyle Thompson's horrific sexual assaults on young girls would not have stopped without the work of the prosecutors, law enforcement agents, and witnesses in this case," U.S. Attorney Robert K. Hur stated. "Today's sentence is a result of their efforts and ensures that Thompson will never be able to abuse a child again."

Authorities said the videos Thompson filmed documented his sexual abuse of the young girls. The videos were located on a memory card hidden in a laundry room while officers executed a search warrant on March 17, 2017, according to officials.

Prosecutors said the case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, which is a nationwide initiative launched back in May 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the child sexual exploitation and abuse.
