March of Dimes moving headquarters from New York to Northern Virginia

The March of Dimes is moving its corporate headquarters from New York to northern Virginia.

The nonprofit group, which works to improve mothers' and babies' health, announced Monday it will relocate to the Crystal City section of Arlington County, just across the river from the nation's capital. It is the same neighborhood that Amazon chose last month for a new headquarters campus.

Arlington County said it expects the move to bring 80 new jobs and occupy 28,000 square feet of real estate.

The county said it provided a $150,000 grant to help lure the company, but expects to recoup the investment with $1.1 million in taxes paid over the next decade.

The March of Dimes had previously announced plans to sell its current headquarters in White Plains, New York.
