WASHINGTON - Superstar Justin Timberlake and DC Mayor Muriel Bowser teamed up to promote the March For Our Lives set to take place in the District on Saturday.
Timberlake and Bowser appeared in a video posted to the singer’s Instagram page encouraging people to attend and participate in the rally.
“It’s been so inspiring seeing young people out there owning their voice and getting ready to own their right to vote,” said Timberlake, who performed at the Capital One Arena on Sunday as part of his Man of the Woods tour.
“I personally want to make sure everyone has a positive, motivating experience at the rally,” Bowser said.
Timberlake and Bowser called for people to learn more information about the walk at marchforourlives.com or by downloading the app for the event.

The March For Our Lives will be a rally orchestrated to call for action on gun control following the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. Officials said 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz opened fire inside the school, killing 17 people.
The deadly shooting has sparked outcry and walkouts throughout the nation with Saturday’s march expected to be the pinnacle of movement.
Officials said they believe the March For Our Lives will rival the Women’s March in 2017, which drew nearly 500,000 protesters to the District. The March For Our Lives is expected to be so large that officials moved the National Cherry Blossom Festival to Sunday after it was originally slated for Saturday.
Historians said the demonstrations were shaping up to be one of the largest youth protests in decades. Another round of school walkouts is planned for April 20, the 19th anniversary of the Columbine High shooting in Colorado.
