Lorton teen charged with murder of Reston couple

RESTON, Va. - A 17-year-old boy from Lorton is suspected of killing a Northern Virginia couple after they tried to break up the relationship between the teen and their daughter over his Neo-Nazi beliefs, according to a source familiar with the investigation.

Police say the teen shot and killed 48-year-old Scott Fricker and his wife, 43-year-old Buckley Kuhn-Fricker in their Reston home, before he turned the gun on himself.

Investigators say the teen gained access to the house Friday morning, but when he was confronted by the Frickers, he shot them.

The teen suspect remains in the hospital in life-threatening condition, according to police, and is under watch by authorities.

He has been charged with two counts of murder. He is not being identified because he is a minor.

Janet Kuhn, Buckley Kuhn-Fricker's mother, tells FOX 5 that the parents tried to break up the daughter and her boyfriend this week because of his views, which the family believes led him to commit the crime at their home on the 2600 block of Black Fir Court.

A source tells FOX 5 police are investigating the boy's alleged Neo-Nazi connection.

Neighbors say the family moved to their house during the summer, but Kuhn says they have been in Reston for years. Police say at least one child lived in the home and neighbors say the couple had several children.

"They just seemed like people we would like to know better, and they are just gone. We all really feel a big loss," says neighbor Danuta Moon.

"They were a very new part of this community but we all really started to like them very much."

According to detectives, four other family members were home at the time of the shooting but were not hurt.

The family is being assisted by Fair Oaks Police Victim Services Section.

Kuhn shared that her daughter's last Facebook post was a quote from Irish philosopher Edmund Burke, which said, "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing."

Several neighbors have laid flowers outside the home. They say the entire neighborhood is feeling a profound loss.
