Man found shot to death on roadway above Baltimore-Washington Parkway in Prince George's County

HYATTSVILLE, Md. - Police are investigating a fatal shooting in the area of the Baltimore-Washington Parkway in Prince George's County, officials say.

Prince George's County police say a man was found on the westbound lanes of Annapolis Road over the Baltimore-Washington Parkway Wednesday evening suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, detectives believe the victim was targeted and investigators are working to identify a suspect and motive in the shooting.

"This did happen in daylight. 6 o'clock. Very busy area. We have to assume that there were a lot of people who saw this," said Prince George's County police spokesperson Jennifer Donelan said. "Please don't assume that somebody else has called and we know what we need to know. If you know anything, please call us because they need the information."
