WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - A DC firefighter has been arrested and charged with assault after police say he attacked a patient on a gurney inside George Washington Hospital.
DC Fire and EMS says 26-year-old Theodore Mobley allegedly got into a verbal argument and physical altercation with a female patient at the hospital after transporting the person Tuesday following a medical call.
Mobley has been charged with simple assault.
DC Fire and EMS says Mobley joined the department in 2011.
They released the following statement on Mobley’s arrest Wednesday:
“While this incident reflects poorly on the DC Fire and EMS Department, it does not represent our committed members who are providing exceptional and compassionate pre-hospital care to the hundreds of patients who call us for help each and every day.”
