Charging documents released on Friday say that the man suspected in the deadly shooting at the Capital Gazette newspaper in Annapolis tried to hide under a desk after the attack.

The court documents say that the suspect, identified as Jarrod W. Ramos, used a long gun firearm to shoot out the business doors.

He entered the office where he shot and killed the paper's assistant managing editor Rob Hiaasen; editorial page editor Gerald Fischman; features reporter Wendi Winters; reporter John McNamara, and sales assistant Rebecca Smith.

Anne Arundel County court documents then say Ramos "attempted to conceal himself under a desk until the police arrived."
