Bijan Ghaisar Shooting: Family sues nearly 9 months after US Park Police fatally shoot accountant
ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Nearly nine months after the fatal shooting of accountant Bijan Ghaisar by U.S. Park Police officers, family members held a press conference Friday to release details regarding a lawsuit they have filed.
Lawyers for Ghaisar's family say no one has said why officers pursued the 25-year-old man last November, nor why family members weren't allowed to see him in the hospital before he died. In the lawsuit filed Friday, attorneys said 250 days have passed since the shooting without any information being released.

The lawsuit being filed names the United States of America and John Does 1-10 as defendants and seeks $25 million in compensatory damages.
According to a police report, Ghaisar, who was from McLean, was shot on Nov. 17, 2017, in Fairfax County by two U.S. Park Police officers. The shooting was preceded by a brief chase police believe began after a fender bender on the George Washington Parkway in Alexandria. Ghaisar died 10 days later.
There are very limited details about what occurred that evening as they have not been released by police. In January 2018, Fairfax County police released dashboard camera video that captured parts of the chase and the shooting.
In June of this year, investigators were back at the scene in Virginia conducting a reenactment of the case.
