The incentive agreement between Amazon and Arlington County has been released bringing to light some of how the county was able to lure the company to northern Virginia.
One of the agreement's more eye-popping revelations in that Amazon is expected to occupy just over 6 million square feet in Crystal City by 2035.
Amazon will receive $23 million over the next 15 years with the county's first payment expected in 2020. The company is expected to occupy at least 64,000 square feet of office space by the time the first payment is made. Amazon will be expected to hit targets each year leading up the more than 6 million square feet goal.
Virginia has also authorized $550 million in workforce grant payments to Amazon. In return, the company is expected to create 25,000 jobs with average pay wages of $125,000.
