3 sexual assault incidents reported on same night in Georgetown

A serial sexual assault suspect is on the loose in D.C. and police are trying to track him down. Three groping incidents happened Thursday night in Georgetown just months after similar attacks occurred around the same area.

According to D.C. police, the first assault happened at around 9:31 p.m. in the 3400 block of R Street in Northwest D.C. About an hour and a half later at around 11:05 p.m., another woman was attacked in the 3400 block of Winfield Lane. Five minutes later, a third victim was assaulted in the 900 block of 25th Street.

In all three incidents, police said the suspect engaged in sexual contact with the victims without their permission before fleeing from the scene.

Police say all three cases may be related as the description of the attacker is similar. The suspect is described as a male wearing a gray-colored hoodie with the hood covering his face and dark-colored pants.

Between February and April, there were five other groping incidents reported in Georgetown.

Police have not said whether Thursday night's incidents are connected with the ones that happened earlier this year.
